About Stith Advocacy Group

The word “Stith” originates from Old English, meaning steadfast, firm, or immovable—a foundation that holds strong under pressure.

Stith Advocacy Group was built on that principle.

We support individuals who are navigating complex legal and administrative systems without formal representation. Our work is grounded in steadiness, clarity, and structure—providing support where systems are often overwhelming, inaccessible, or silent.

Stith Advocacy Group provides legal document preparation, administrative advocacy support, research assistance, and procedural guidance for self-represented (Pro Per) individuals. We assist clients in organizing information, understanding processes, and preparing filings so they can move forward informed and empowered.

While we are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice or representation, we stand firmly beside those who must advocate for themselves—offering structured support rooted in integrity, accountability, and community awareness.

La'Asia Stith

Founder & Administrative Advocacy Specialist

La'Asia Stith founded Stith Advocacy Group after years of directly supporting neighbors and community members navigating complex legal and administrative systems without representation. While leading the SB Tenants Union, she helped numerous tenants facing unlawful detainers better understand their rights and procedural options while representing themselves in court. Through personal study of California housing law and participation in eviction defense clinics hosted by the Eviction Defense Network, she gained valuable knowledge that she shared with others in her community.

Her advocacy helped many residents organize their cases, understand court procedures, and respond to unlawful detainers more effectively, resulting in several cases being dismissed or successfully defended by self-represented tenants. These experiences revealed how overwhelming legal and administrative systems can be for individuals who must navigate them alone.

Stith Advocacy Group was created to provide structured support for self-represented individuals by offering legal document preparation assistance, administrative advocacy support, research assistance, and procedural guidance. The goal is to help individuals approach complex systems with greater clarity, organization, and confidence.

Values

Stith Advocacy Group was built on the belief that individuals should have access to clear information, organized support, and the confidence to advocate for themselves when navigating complex legal and administrative systems. Too often, people find themselves facing institutions, agencies, or legal processes without representation and without a clear understanding of the procedures involved.

Our work is rooted in the principles of transparency, empowerment, and structured support. We believe that knowledge, organization, and preparation can significantly improve an individual’s ability to navigate challenging situations. By helping self-represented individuals better understand processes, organize documentation, and prepare procedural responses, we aim to reduce confusion and increase confidence in systems that can often feel overwhelming.

At its core, Stith Advocacy Group exists to support individuals who are determined to stand for themselves, ensuring they have access to informational guidance and administrative support while maintaining full control over their own matters.
